A student of the San Fernando School of Fine Arts in Madrid. He exhibited at the Jaén Exhibition of 1878 and the National Exhibitions of Fine Arts of 1908 and 1910, with honorable mention on both occasions. He worked on historical or allegorical themes and everyday scenes, although he was much better known as a portrait painter; among his models were Javier Gómez de la Serna and Modesto Conde Caballero.
