Rare 17th-18th C. Italian or Spanish Dagger with Unique Blade Configuration. A very distinctive early example with a truly unique blade configuration, starting out as half-hexagonal section for lower third of its length, further becoming Diamond section towards the tip. The other side is quite unusual as well having a step down in its thickness right before the middle. Both sides of the blade with engraved decorations with lower blade chiseled and pierced to form an elaborate guard and ferrule. Fluted bone grip with steel pommel chiseled en suite. Total length (inside scabbard if present) : 10"Blade length : 5 3/4"
