Rare Chinese Silver-Inlaid Bronze Ritual Tripod Pouring Vessel with Cover (Liu Ding); Warring States Period. The globular vessel raised on cabriole legs, fitted with a pair of bail handles, and surmounted by a shallow domed cover with single loose ring; inlaid in silver alloy with concentric banding of diagonal-scroll patterning interspersed with quatrefoil flower heads; the body below the spout is inlaid with eleven silver alloy characters; with handsome mottled verdigris patination. Translation of Inscriptions: Sheng commissioned to create this tripot vessel, in pray of gaining protection of ten thousand years of future generations.
