Rare HJ/DJ Drum Made with Torah Scroll - Holocaust

We offer in this auction a very special and rare item totally connected to Holocaust. It's a Hitlerjugend drum whose batter head is made from an original period Torah scroll piece! This was done to denigrate the Jewish tradition and the sacred book of the Jews: the Torah. Torahs were made from unborn lamb skin, and it's a perfect material for a drum, so the Nazis sometimes used them to manufacture the drums, with the sacred text looking inside the drum. When HJ boy hit the drum with the drumsticks it was as though each hit was a hit to the Jewish tradition, something that was dramatic for the Jews since the Torah was really sacred! The scroll likely came from one of the many synagogues that serviced the areaÂ’s Jewish communities in Poland, which before the Holocaust had tens of thousands of members. During the war all the synagogues were destroyed and no one knew what happened to the Torah scrolls. This is part of one of those very old Torah's probably plundered from one of the many synagogues destroyed by the Nazis.This ultra rare piece has miraculously survived until our days and we offer it as a great hightlight of our auction. Drum has some normal damage due to use and the age, but it's an amazing piece for any Holocaust collector.We are talking about a very rare item that isn't that common and most of them are in museums!Not long time ago, in The Times of Israel, news about a drum made with Torah was published regarding a drum that was bought to bring it to Israel.
