Rare Irish Chippendale style carved mahogany dining chairs 19th century, eagle carved scrolling crestrail, shield carved splat, serpentine seatrail, cabriole legs with figural carved knees and hairy paw feet; seats now padded, BH41" SH18" W30" D27" (8pcs)

Provenance: North Carolina collection

Condition: Condition statement: three chairs have original cane seating. The others have either missing or damaged caning. Top of seat rails are scuffed and missing finish. Present owner has had seat cushions made. Old repair on two armchair where arm joins the arm support. Separations, shrinkage and old repairs to the claw that joins the shield to style of the chair. Scuffs, scratches, and dings consistent with age and use.
