Reliant - Tempest "NO RESERVE" - 1991

[ translate ]

This Reliant Tempest is a rare specimen of a small series of about 50 cars. In the 1980s, Reliant developed a design similar to Morgan's: modern mechanics with a retro look, but very few vehicles were assembled because Reliant preferred to focus on the TVR SS1 model. The design included a galvanized chassis, the classic 850 cc aluminium engine of standard derivation and a 4-speed gearbox. In addition, the Tempest was also prepared for both left and right hand drive (the instrument panel is central for this reason) . The drive can thus be converted by changing the steering box. The old owner loved this car so much that he gave it a name: "Jolie Matisse" or "beautiful iron". The body is made of aluminium and resin. This specimen is one of the last that were built: the metallic blue colour is original, like the black interior. The alloy wheels are in excellent condition and the car drives nicely. The sound is addictive. An additional oil radiator has also been installed for the summer months. The capote and side windows were redone a few months ago and are in excellent condition, for a documented cost of over €2000. Also adjustable front shock absorbers and disc brakes have been mounted. The technical inspection was passed in July 2020 and will be valid until July 2021. The vehicle starts as it should and runs well, the gearbox and mechanical components are in working order and the vehicle is easy to drive. There are some videos of the engine and the car, you can ask Catawiki. Bidders are welcome to view and test the vehicle. It is located in Quarrata 51039, PT, Italy. Please send a message to Catawiki for an appointment. We will take care of the transfer of ownership remotely or of the export documents; affordable shipping throughout Italy, Europe and the rest of the world.
