Robert Silver (British b.1955), a contemporary 'Love Rules' teapot, 21st century, impressed marks to base, White stoneware, with oxidising glaze, thrown and hand-built, decorated with printed lettering, 18cm high; together with a smaller 'Love Rules' teapot, impressed marks to base, white stoneware, with oxidising glaze, thrown and hand-built, decorated with printed lettering, 14cm high, and third tea/coffee pot, in white stoneware, with blue oxidising glaze, thrown and hand-built, 21.5cm high (3) Note: Robert Silver initially trained as a studio potter (Michael Casson was one of his teachers) and attended the two-year Studio Pottery Course at Harrow College of Art and Technology. He worked at the Govancroft Pottery in Glasgow as studio assistant to the designer Ken Southall and then worked as a freelance Design journalist for 35 years. Silver has since returned to his practical and artistic roots , “..possibly creating the best work of my life. But, then I’m biased.” His current work is aesthetic yet utilitarian; ‘..the result of a marriage between Bernard Leach and Art Deco pottery, creating a kind of Post Industrial, Steam punk pottery’.
All three pieces are in good condition with no breaks or restoration.
