Rolex, Swiss, "Oyster Cosmograph Daytona", Case No. 4017975, Ref. 6265, Cal. 727, 37 mm, circa 1975 A highly attractive Rolex "cult" timekeeper "COSMOGRAPH DAYTONA" Case: steel, screw back ref. 6265, screwed Rolex winding crown, screwed chronograph pushers, steel bezel with engraved tachy scale. folded steel "Oyster" bracelet ref. 7835.19, 7/5 bracelet elements, endlinks stamped 357, bracelet length 135 mm, total length 175 mm. Dial: silvered, black subsidiary dials. This timepiece dating from 1975 is not only extremely attractive but also in excellent condition: Case and dial as well as the beautiful bracelet are in almost mint condition, only the black subsidiary dials show very slight, age-appropriate signs of use. For most collectors of fine Rolex watches the "Oyster Cosmograph Daytona" is a must-have - not only because of its cult status but also because of its overall, aesthetic appearance. The model features a combination of silvered dial with red Daytona logo, black subsidiary dials, an attractive steel bezel and a sportive yet elegant case the "Oyster Cosmograph Daytona" is pure legend. References 6263 (with acrylic bezel) and 6265 (with engraved steel bezel) come with black subdials on white ground as well as with white subdials on black ground. They were launched in 1970 to replace references 6262 and 6264 (without screw-down pushers); from around 1974 on they featured the larger, red "Daytona" logo. Case: very good, slightly worn. Dial: very good. Movm.: very good, capable of running, cleaning recommended.
