Roman Bronze Applique of Goddess - Minerva

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A finely cast bronze applique depicting Minerva, the ancient Roman goddess of wisdom and the arts, who is regularly identified with the Greek goddess Athena. Skillfully cast via the lost-wax (cire perdue) process, she presents a beautiful visage with her traditional helmet, and the surface presents gorgeous green and aqua patina. Size: 2.25" W x 2.25" H (5.7 cm x 5.7 cm); 3.25" H (8.3 cm) on included custom stand.
