Roman Glass Jar w/ Rainbow Iridescence

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A delicate glass vessel of a deep aqua and teal hues resting on a wide base with a narrow tubular body that rises up to a wide rim. The interior cavity extends just to the base of the neck and lovely flecks of rainbow iridescence cover the base and rim, adding radiance to the glass. A petite jar of a pleasing weight, this was perhaps used for a Roman lady's scented oil or perfume. Size: 2.1" W x 2.5" H (5.3 cm x 6.4 cm)
