Roman Marble Draped Standing Goddess & Smaller Figure

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A carved white marble lower portion of a draped figure with a smaller female figure standing next to the left leg. The larger figure stands in contrapposto with the left knee raised, and weight shifted to the right leg. Both figures display finely carved drapery details over their forms. The smaller figure stands upon a pedestal with the right knee raised and folded arms. Mounted on a custom hardwood base. Size: 7.375" H (18.7 cm); 8.875" H (22.5 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: private Healy collection, Studio City, California, USA, acquired over the last twenty years; ex-private New York, New York, USA collection, acquired at Gerhard Hirsch Nachfolger, September 21, 2015, Auction 311-315, lot 554a
