Roman Neckalce w/ 18K+ Gold & Amethyst Beads

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A stunning necklace with an allure brought forth by skillfully carved amethyst beads with sharp central carinations. Between each amethyst is a petite spacer ball made from 88% gold (equivalent to 21K+), and a triangular 81% gold (equivalent to 18K+) pendant is adorned with gold granules. A large drop-form amethyst pendant hangs from the lowest tip of the golden triangle and is supported by an additional gold bead. Strung in modern times and capped with a gold-filled loop and French hook combo, this is a mesmerizing necklace that is sure to accentuate any outfit! Condition Report: Strung in modern times and wearable as shown. Amethyst beads, gold spacer beads, and triangular gold pendant are ancient, and stringing, gold tassel beneath amethyst pendant, and gold-filled components are modern. Minor nicks and abrasions to some amethyst and gold beads, with light weathering to some amethyst beads, otherwise intact and excellent. Nice patina throughout.
