Roman Pottery Oil Lamp w/ Jupiter Dolichenus

**First Time At Auction**

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A mold-formed pottery oil lamp with a flat base, a narrow handle, and a circular body with a projecting wick spout. On the tondo is a faint raised image depicting Jupiter Dolichenus and Juno Dolichena, and remains of iron oxide are visible behind the central fill hole. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 4.625" L x 3.4" W (11.7 cm x 8.6 cm)

Provenance: private Dunn collection, Coral Springs, Florida, USA, acquired in the 1990s
