Roman Terracotta Oil Lamp w/ Male Figure Relief Tondo

Rome, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. A wonderful redware oil lamp presenting a discoid body with a recessed central tondo, petite fill hole, and flared and pointed spout flanked by a pair of volutes, all sitting upon a flat, circular base. The recessed central tondo is adorned with the relief image of a man dressed in a loin cloth facing right as he raises his left arm and bends his right arm at the elbow.
