Ronald Versloot (1964-) - En Route

[ translate ]

\Artist: Ronald Versloot (1964-)
Technique: Oil on canvas\Signature: Hand signed\Dimensions: 95_75_cm
Ronald Versloot (1964) has long explored the possibilities of mixing painting with the graphic technique of the linoleum cut. The lino figures look like real actors performing in a painted setting. With this he cuts the age-old Figur – Foundational Problem in painting: how does the (human) figure relate to the background and how to bring the two together. The lino figures offer new opportunities to represent this phenomenon sharply. Because the figures are rendered in contour, you can see straight through them on the painted background. This thinness is contradicted by giving the printed figure a heavy painted shadow. It makes you wonder if the painted is real or the lino. This piece comes from the company collection of EY.
