A carved root statue of Zhongkui and ghost dating from the 19th century. Zhongkui is depicted with his foot raised and a sword in hand. The ghost below him is smaller in size and appears frightened. The sculpture comes in 5 pieces. The head, sword, ghost, and root base can all be separated.
Dimensions: 38 inches tall X 14 3/8 inches wide; 96.5 cm tall X 34 cm wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: It has a few missing pieces, including a hand; some cracks.
Provenance: From an estate in Southern California.
