Chinese Rose Medallion Porcelain Punch Bowl and Baluster Vase on Stands
third quarter 19th century, the elaborately decorated bowl covered with panels of mandarin decoration surrounded with peony and butterfly borders, on a wooden stand, bowl h. 6", dia. 15-3/4", overall h. 12-5/8", and the large, ornately enameled and gilded baluster-form vase with reserves depicting courtly pursuits, on a wooden stand, vase h. 25-3/8", dia. 8-1/4", overall h. 27-3/4".
Condition Report: **The vase has a series of old professional repairs with scattered inpainting on the neck and mouth with accompanying hairline cracks. The body is largely intact with a 1/2" drill hole in the underside from possibly being converted to and from a lamp base.
The bowl retains color intensity. Displays professional repair and faintly visible hairline cracks and areas of inpainting.
Both have scattered firing anomalies and light rubbing to enamels consistent with age, use and material.
