SAVAGE MODEL 340 BOLT ACTION RIFLE
SERIAL A489047. BARREL 24". CALIBER .222 REMINGTON. This model appeared in 1950, a couple of years after the action was introduced by a rifle bearing the Stevens name. It was discontinued in 1985. It was sold as a solid and reliable bolt action hunting rifle at half the price of a Model 70 at the time. It features a blue finish, sporting sights, basket weave impressed checkering with plastic plate and cap. It is magazine fed but the mag is no longer present. The stock shows some handling marks as does the metal but still in excellent condition. An old Bushnell Banner 6X scope has been mounted. Fine bore and action. *
