A RARE FOOTED GLASS BEAKER WITH DEDICATION INSCRIPTION Russian, St. Petersburg, Imperial Glass Factory, circa 1830 Colourless, cut-decorated glass. Lobed disc foot with star-cut base, faceted stem, and finely tooled knop at the base of the cup. Inscribed above: "To Mr. J.C. Wedderihn in Hamburg - In remembrance from your former pupil J.M. Kols. in St. Petersburg.' On the reverse, a poetic tribute to the teacher. J.C. Wedderihn is recorded as a teacher in Hamburg during the 1830s and 1840s. 13.3 cm high.
