SENUFO COUPLE, CÔTE D'IVOIRE

Height of male figure: 12 ½ in (31.7 cm); Height of female figure: 10 ¼ in (26 cm)

Condition Report:
Very good condition overall with wear consistent with age and use.
The female figure with an open age crack to the proper left side of the head, between the breasts, and inside the proper left hand, running down next to the proper left leg. Areas of insect damage to the proper right side of the head. The rear proper left leg of the stool broken and glued. Old loss to the proper right hand, as visible in the catalogue illustration.
The male figure's proper left arm broken just below the elbow, the forearm and hand probably a restoration. Upper part of the spear in the proper right hand is restored.
Both figures with marks, nicks, scratches, and abrasions in places throughout, consistent with age and use. Exceptionally fine lustrous dark brown rubbed patina. Freestanding.
