The very first book printed at Bass’ press in Dyhenfurth (today, Brzeg Dolny, Poland). Beth Shmuel would swiftly rise in popularity. Almost all editions of Shulchan Aruch - Even Ha’ezer issued today now contain this commentary. The author (1645-1706) served as rabbi in Szydlow and Furth. His daughter married Chief Rabbi Aaron Hart of England.
