Russian icon of St. Nicholas, the beloved fourth-century Christian saint known for miracles attributed to him, in egg tempura on wood panel and silver plated. Depicts St. Nicholas with distinctive halo blessing with one hand and holding the Gospels in the other. Painted naturalistically in brown tone colors with silver plated brass "rizza" made to protect and showcase the subject. Purchased for $1350. Dimensions: H 14" x W 12" x D 1.5" Condition: Wear and tear consistent with age. Wood planks on backside have shifted and sit off center (see photos). SKU: TLV8128014
