A 19th century American Banjo clock by Sylvester W. Talbot, Dedham, Mass (signed "Made by S. W. Talbot, 1833" on weight cover). 8-day weight driven time only movement with a painted Iron dial and Roman numerals. Mahogany case with Gilded front, Gilded Brass Eagle finial over a molded Brass dial door, tapered throat panel with applied rope moldings and reverse painted glass flanked by shaped Brass side arms, lower door with a reverse painted glass marked "S. Willards Patent", by Spencer Nolen, Boston, Mass signed verso "S. Nolen, 1829". Refinished case with minor wear, repainted Gilding, replaced finial, running when cataloged. 34 1/4" high overall.
