Saint Clement - Sculpture, LION - 18 cm - Ceramic

Superb glazed ceramic Lion sculpture.
Style: Art Deco.
Beautiful ivory color with a lovely glossy glaze. Where the glaze layer is thicker, it has a bluish tint.
Although it is not signed, this quality sculpture was probably manufactured by the Saint Clément earthenware factory.
This antique sculpture with some signs of aging due to age. I invite you to look closely at the photos.

Sculptors often used animal subjects as decoration in the 1930s. At first the sculptures were white. In the 1940s, sculptures of different colors began to be produced. A similar sculpture is mentioned in Patrick Malaureille CRAQUELÉS' book "Ceramic animals 1920-1940".
