These types of prints are considered rare, their number is limited and therefore more expensive than the current edition. Prints with the EA signature are intended for the artist.Dalí used embossing to achieve an effect that could be called "white sculpture." The convex, unembossed parts of the paper, reflecting the light in a specific way, became an integral part of the work, giving it a monumental and sculptural character. This was especially important for works in which the artist wanted to emphasize certain details or give them more weight,The featured print is the third board made by Dali for the monumental book "Revelation According to St. John," published by Joseph Foret in 1961. Joseph Foret, inspired by the giganticness of the 71 large tapestries of the Revelation of St. John at the Chateau of Angers and the scale of the threats of the Cold War, began preparations for the edition in 1958. Seven writers of different and often disparate persuasions wrote commentaries, reflections and reflections on the text of the Apostle John: Jean Cocteau , Jean Rostand , Daniel-Rops , Jean Guitton , Emil Cioran , Jean Giono and Ernst Jünger . Their texts were illustrated by seven artists who were symbols of the artistic trends of the time: Bernard Buffet, Léonard Foujita, Georges Mathieu, Leonor Fini, Pierre-Yves Trémois, Ossep Zadkine and Salvador Dali.The book was created over three years, in one piece, on parchment in a bronze binding, designed by Dali, with gold embellishments and precious stones, which weighs 150 kilograms alone, and the entire work weighs 210 kilograms.Starting in 1961, the work was exhibited in various countries around the world for about ten years.
