The lithographs were originally intended as gifts for guests of an exhibition of Salvador Dali's gouaches at Hotel Le Meurice in Paris. For an unknown reason, they were not gifted and for more than half a century they were in the inventory of Hotel Le Meurice in Paris. The exclusive Hotel Le Meurice was a favorite place for great artists and thinkers and was the center of world exhibitions. In it Pablo Picasso held his wedding reception, and Salvadore Dali spent a month there every year for 30 years in the old Royal Suite . "Flordali "are fanciful, anthropomorphized plants carrying humorous and erotic content, among other things. Characteristic elements of Salvador Dali's paintings are also present throughout the series, such as the eye motif, the crow's feet and the figure evoking associations with Don Quixote.
