Color wood engraving by the Spanish artist Salvador Dali (1904-1989) .
This print is known under the English title "The inhabitants of Prato" and was used as an illustration for the famous work "La Divina Commedia" by the Italian poet Dante Alighieri (1265-1321) .
There are several editions of this work with Dali's illustrations. This is probably the French edition published in Paris in 1960 by Jospeh Foret. This is a wood engraving in color and the signature at the bottom is probably printed.
