Samaritan Pottery Oil Lamp w/ Linear Motifs

Ancient Near East, northern Israel, Samaritan culture, ca. 4th to 5th century CE. A mold-formed pottery oil lamp with a bullseye base, a circular body with a protruding thumb rest on the verso, a broad fill hole, and a wick spout shaped with corseted walls. The shoulders are decorated with circular and linear motifs in low relief, and the neck channel features windows of vertical and horizontal bars. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only.
