Sander (Henry Frederick Conrad). Reichenbachia. Orchids Illustrated and Described, 2 series in 4 volumes, 1st edition, St Albans: F. Sander & Co., [1886-95], half-titles, 192 chromolithographic plates, each with tissue-guard, all text and plates mounted on linen hinges, intermittent light spotting to margins (more extensive to half-titles and title-pages), series 1 volume 2 with light silverfish damage to foot of half-title and title-page, closed tear in tissue-guard of plate 85, a few plates towards rear faintly offset, plates 90, 93 and 95 with faint paper residue from previous adhesion of tissue-guards, series 2 volume 1 plates 1, 9, 10, 11, 13, 22, 25, 26, 28, 40, 41, 43 and 45 and series 2 volume 2 plates 54, 60, 75, 77 and 78 adhering to tissue-guards, variable paper residue to other plates in series 2 volume 1 (e.g. 3, 8, 27 and 44), light paper residue to series 2 volume 2 plates 56 and 69, all edges gilt, contemporary dark green half morocco gilt by D. A. Lowthime of 17 Lamb's Conduit Street, London, slightly rubbed and marked, series 1 volume 1 worn along fore edge of front board, large folio (51.6 x 38 cm)
