An exceptional retro sapphire and diamond engagement ring, in 18Kt gold, France, circa 1950s-1970s.; The magnificent cushion-cut sapphire measuring, approximately, 17.69 carats has been prong set in a beautiful 18 karat yellow gold setting. The gem is a rich very slightly violetish blue hue, has medium - strong saturation, light tone, superb clarity, and brilliance. Complementing it are a pair of heart-shaped diamonds, totaling approximately 0.50 carats. Both gems have excellent color (E-G) and clarity (VVS-VS).; The ring is in excellent vintage condition showing only expected signs of wear. It weighs approximately 12.59 grams and is US ring size 8 1/2 (UK ring size Q 1/2). It is not marked but tested positive for 18K gold.; Included in the sale is the IGL gemological report.
