A South Indian bronze sculpture of the goddess Bhudevi / Mahalakshmi in Nayak style, ca 1800, ca 30 cm. high, 10 cm. wide and 10 cm. deep. Bhudevi standing in 'samabhanga' on a lotus throne mounted on a square base ('padmapitha') with cut-outs and decorated with lotus petals, holding a lotus bud ('padma') in her right hand, wearing 'dhoti', her face with almond-shaped eyes, aquiline nose, smiling lips, elongated earlobes with ear rings, the pinned up hair with high crown, a 'chakra' behind her head, old repair (images #17-18) .
