Sculpture of Christ on the Orb, representing the dominion of Christ over the World. Old carving in chestnut wood of Jesus with the characteristic features of the 19th century sculptures, typical of Neo-Roman Classicism, slightly foreshortened posture and hieratic gaze reminiscent of ancient sculptures from the Greco-Latin world. Figure with a balanced rest that gives the sensation of calm, with features in finishes typical of Neo-Baroque art, with hands full of veins and finishes in the form of extreme thinness of the figure. A work of religious art preserved in good conditions with some minimal restoration, as seen in the photos. Bought to a prestigious antique dealer. Registered shipping and well packed.
