Sculpture - Sandstone - Male deity head - very likely Lokeshvara- Cambodia - Angkor Vat (1100-1175)

Description. Male deity head, most probably from Lokeshvara due to the figure in front of mukuta. Many iconographic details confirm the style of angkor vat for this head. The Jatamukuta is cylindrical, the back topknot is also an iconographic element who was used at the beginning of the period and dissapeared atfer the first half of 12th century. Really high polish of sandstone who is signifiant of Royal order. IMPORTANT MEASURE ARE OUT OF BASEDatation12th century. Condition. Excellent condition considering the age of the piece.
