Bakongo Mayombe so called grave statues, purchased from Mr P. Laermans from Brussels. Early 20th century, probably between 1890 and 1915, Walscharts collection. The brothers Walscharts from Antwerp imported colonial items, they were also taxidermists. Very light wood with polychromy. This is a unique piece, original. Wood and brass nails in the back.
