Scuola Fiamminga (XVII) - I miracoli di un santo

[ translate ]

\Artist: Scuola Fiamminga (XVII)
Technique: Olio su rame\Signature: Not signed\Dimensions: 54_4_47_cm
This stupendous 17th century Flemish oil on copper depicts a saint with a novice of his order behind him, as he observes various miracles taking place around him. The dead are resurrected surrounded by their families, while a blind and a cripple are healed. At the feet of the saint, some notables dressed in oriental clothes observe the scenes. High in the sky, what is perhaps an allegory of faith, with his hand resting on a terrestrial globe, together with an angelic host, he sends lightning on a pagan temple, destroying it. A large statue of an idol is falling, while the temple priests escape by jumping from a balcony. The work has been cleaned and minimally restored in a specialized workshop, and photos are shown. It has a wooden protection on the back and measures cm. 54 x 47 including nineteenth-century frame and cm. 37 x 29. 5 copper only. A certificate of lawful provenance from my collection is provided. ATTENTION: the packaging will be very accurate and safe, however we are not responsible for any damage to the frame due to transport, since it must be considered a gift outside the clearing price. For shipments outside the U. E. shipping times will be longer and the unspecified customs fees will be charged to the buyer in the country of arrival.
