Scuola Italiana (XVI-XVII) - Madonna con Bambino, san Francesco e santa Chiara

[ translate ]

\Artist: Scuola Italiana (XVI-XVII)
Technique: Oil on canvas\Signature: Not signed\Dimensions: 108_87_5_cm
Ancient painting, oil on canvas, dating back to between the end of the 16th and the first part of the 17th century, depicting the Madonna with Child, Saint Francis and Saint Clare. This evocative devotional work, whose pictorial surface highlights passages of admirable decorum, appears to be attributable to an author probably active in central Italy, also suggesting a date of execution to be placed between the end of the 16th and the first part of the 17th century. In fairly good general condition considering the age of the painting, there are some scattered restoration points and some slight peeling and cracking of the pictorial surface, however nothing particularly relevant. There are no conservation problems. The original canvas has no relining and does not seem to need any work, only a few old repairs on the back of the canvas are to be noted. The loom appears coeval with the work. A fine craquelè is visible in relation to the time. Framed in a beautiful posthumous period frame, which has slight defects and restorations. Measurements of the painting: 95. 5 x 74 cm. Frame measurements: 108 x 87 cm. Work accompanied by a certificate of photographic authenticity, as per current legislation. Shipping via insured express courier and packaging carried out with the utmost care.
