Antique painting, oil on canvas, from the 17th century, depicting a delicate praying Madonna. Painting of beautiful quality, which presents peculiar characters attributable to an author of the Bolognese school, highlighting a remarkable quality of drafting and drawing, as well as an elegant compositional balance, dictated by the models developed by Guido Reni, suggesting the attribution to an author to be researched among the pupils or followers of the teacher. Framed in a beautiful gilt frame and decorated with leaf motifs, which has defects and shortcomings. In fairly good general condition considering the time of the painting, there are some small scattered restorations and some slight unveiling of the pictorial surface, however nothing particularly relevant. There are no problems of a conservative nature, the original canvas has a nineteenth-century relining that does not seem to need interventions. The frame seems to have been replaced at the time of the relining. Measurements of the canvas: 48 x 39 cm. Frame size: 65 x 52 cm.
