[ translate ]

\Artist: Scuola di Bergamo del XVII Secolo
Technique: Oil on canvas\Signature: Not signed\Dimensions: 73_92_5_cm
Antique oil painting on canvas from the 17th century depicting a still life with musical instruments. The painting is attributed to an artist of the School of Bergamo, clearly influenced by the works of Evaristo Baschenis. At the back of the stretcher there is a label of Galleria Pulcherrima in Rome, bearing an attribution to Bartolomeo Bettera (1639-1699) and a dating to 1680. The stylistic and iconographic references of this work match with Bettera's biography and artistic personality, as does the analysis of the craquelure, which would indicate a coeval dating and therefore a likely authorship of the work. With a beautiful antique frame, also dateable around the las quarter XVII century, which is in good conditon. In overall fairly good condition, considering its age. There are some scattered restorations and some peeling of the surface. As shown in the photos, the the carpet under the musical instruments has undergone an old restoration. The original canvas has an old re-lining that does not seem to require further intervention. Fine craquelure consistent with the paintings’ age. It looks like the stretcher was replaced when the painting was relined. Painting size: 59 x 77 cm. Frame size: 73 x 92 cm. With photographic certificate of authenticity, in accordance with the current law. Shipping via insured express courier, packaged with the utmost care.
