The resurrection of Lazarus was a subject already interpreted by great artists such as Caravaggio, Rubens, Alessandro Turchi and others. Our eighteenth-century work, certainly a master hand and of great scenographic impact, shows us a Lazarus at the moment of his resurrection, still wrapped in the shroud, with his arms extended towards one of the two sisters of Bethany, probably Martha, while Mary, the other sister, is kneeling at the feet of Jesus. Eight other characters surround the scene, with an attitude of amazement at the miracle that has just occurred. The work is relined and with few restorations, it measures cm. 68. 5 x 56. 5 including the Florentine handcrafted frame in gold leaf, and cm. 56 x 43. 5 canvas only. A certificate of lawful provenance from my collection is provided. ATTENTION: the packaging will be very accurate and safe, however we are not responsible for any damage to the frame due to transport, since it must be considered a gift outside the clearing price. For shipments outside the U. E. shipping times will be longer and the unspecified customs fees will be charged to the buyer in the country of arrival.
