Knight of Malta with with cross order. The knight holds in his hand the letter addressed to the Marquis Crispolti in Perugia. The gentleman's clothing is very elegant, with a scarf and a lace collar, wide cuffs and buttons. An imposing staff is held in the right hand. While under his left arm you can see a black tricorn hat. Original painting from XVIII century. The painting is in good condition. It has been relined. The frame on which the canvas is stretched has been renewed. On the back there is an old label that attributes the painting to the Roman school. This hypothesis is very probable, because at the time Umbria and Perugia were part of the Papal state, and this created a strong influence of Roman tastes in Umbria. Without frame.
