Sega Multi-Mega (Sega, UK, 1993-1994) Prototype. System prototypes are rare to find, and this one is particularly interesting due to the obscurity of the system. Looking at the label under the system, the model number indicates this is from the PAL region, and was received at the London headquarters of Sega Europe. The lack of serial number and origin of this piece further confirm its status. Known in North America as the Sega Genesis CDX, this was a hybrid console that combined a Sega Mega Drive (Sega Genesis), Sega Mega-CD, and a personal CD player into one system. Production of the commercially available Multi-Mega ceased when the Sega 32X was released later that same year. From Sega European Product Manager, Tony Takoushi.
