An early 20th century Seth Thomas "No. 28" model Grandfather clock. 8-day weight driven No. 74 D movement with quarter hour Westminster chime on four bells and Cathedral gong hour strike, a Brass dial with painted Moon phase above a Silvered chapter ring and Gilded Arabic numerals and subsidiary seconds dial flanked by Gilded filigree spandrels with finely engraved decoration. Mahogany case with molded Swan neck pediment and turned Brass finials above an arched dial door flanked by fluted columns with Brass capitols and bases over a waist door with thick beveled glass flanked by fluted quarter columns with Brass capitols and bases, all on a paneled base supported by Ogee bracket feet. Restored finish with only slight wear, movement recently overhauled, running and striking correctly when cataloged. 21 1/2 x 15 x 97 1/2" high overall. ESTIMATE $3,000-5,000
