Shakespeare Wooden Minnow Picture Box

Rare early maroon box dating to 1908-09, 6” in length, with green printed light yellow top label that wraps to include the end flap, double patent dates, clearly marked Rainbow Size 2. No. 44GY Green Back Yellow Belly. Complete with its equally as rare, large fold out “The Shakespeare Wooden Minnow” catalog, also light yellow, illustrating the Wooden Minnow, Evolution, Worden Bucktail, Rhodes Mechanical Swimming Frog, reels, rods and line spool. The rainbow finish 5hk minnow, features good glass eyes, B-notch props and see through gem clip hardware, grading VG/VG+ due to ring around the belly weight, back rub, pointers/drags and age lines. Box is about VG+, corner/edge wear, light soiling, label slightly faded, with an improved grade if the two box bottom separated corners and loose paper on the interior lip are repaired. The very tough brochure is Ex-/Ex. A nearly impossible pre-1910 combination to find - the only to be offered at Lang’s.
