Shechitot. Venice, 1606 - Bedikot. Venice, 1606. Rare

[ translate ]

Early edition of the early and important book, one of the foundational books of the halachahs of ritual slaughter: 'Rabbi Ya'akov Weil z"l's Shechitot with glosses to their right and left.' Printed by Daniel Zanetti, Venice, 1606.
Printed and bound with:
Sefer Bedikot, which is also an early edition of the early and important book, one of the foundational books of the halachahs of bedikah: 'Rabbi Ya'akov Weil z"l's Bedikot and the glosses, with Rashi"'s laws of nikkur.' Printed by Daniel Zanetti, Venice, 1606.
There is a large picture of the printer's device on the last pages of the book: a shield with a face from which rays of glory emanate, surrounded by the verse: "A sun of righteousness will shine for you, with healing in its rays. (See A. Ya'ari Diglei HaMadpisim HaIvri'im no. 49, who writes that this device was only in the books before us, and it is clear that it has no connection to the printer Zanetti, and apparently there is a hint here to the printer's name, possibly "Zerach" or "Shimshon.")
8; 8 leaves, 15 cm. Owner's signature from the time of printing. Both books are rare.
Moderate-fine condition. Aging stains. Fold marks with tiny tears in the folds, without damage to text. Wear in the corners, with a tiny blemish to several letters in the last three leaves. Simple binding.
