Sheffield Silver Plate Platter, Latham & Morton
A large oval Sheffield silverplate serving platter / tray. Hallmarks for Latham & Morton (Thomas Latham & Ernest Morton - 1866-1926, Sheffield and Birmingham England). Fine detailing, the center etched and engraved with a shield surrounded by garlands of flowers. A floral scrolling swag motif borders the shield. Beaded edge and acanthus leaf formed handles. Measures 29" wide from ends of handles, 18.5" wide, 2-1/8" high to top of handles. Maker's hallmarks on underside, see photos.
