Authentic bedspread in pure linen embroidered by hand in Sicilian drawn thread embroidery. Made in Sicily in the 1950s/60s. Important antique bedspread in pure and beautiful high quality white linen, fully embroidered in Sicilian drawn thread embroidery and other antique stitches, thread drawn by hand on large loom, on which 4 expert sewers worked for several months of intense and precious work, to make the large amount of embroidery perfect. The quality of the linen is exceptional, only the best linen was used to make these masterpieces, given the very high costs of manufacturing them. This item was made in Sicily, commissioned by a bride in the 1950s/70s and is from a private collection. This is not the copy of a commercial item, of which the market is saturated, given that Sicilian drawn thread embroidery has been imitated a lot outside of Sicily and Italy In perfect condition, never used, never washed with its original folds, no stains, it shows just a few conservation stains in very few spots that are almost imperceptible but that guarantee its authenticity and the time it was made in.
