Large tablecloth for 12 in pure linen with 500 handmade embroidery. Sicily, 1950s/60s. Elegant tablecloth for 12 with 12 napkins, in high quality pure white linen, now no longer existing, richly embroidered by hand in 500 stitch, drawn thread embroidered by hand on loom with some parts in satin stitch, with a minimum of two years of work. This precious embroidery covers the entire tablecloth in full with a wonderful effect of transparency and elegance. This item was made in Sicily by experts in 500 embroidery, who perform the true and authentic and precious Sicilian drawn thread embroidery. For its beauty and preciousness this type of embroidery has been imitated by foreign countries, in ways that cannot be compared with the authentic ones, they’re imitations which have nothing to do with the authentic ones made in Sicily. It is a museum-worthy piece, its condition is excellent, never used nor washed, still in its original state.
