Sidharta Soegijo Gregorius (Yogyakarta, 1932 - Solo, C. Java, 2006) Wanita Berbunga I (Flowering Woman I)
In 1986, the sculptor Gregorius Sidharta started working on his series of Women with Flowers, first in wood measuring 60 cm in height. Later he worked on a model intended to be cast in bronze. The model was 32 cm in height. This sculpture is the fourth edition of the final bronze cast, which includes a three-tiered ornamental base. So the height of the sculpture is 38 cm. The sculpture depicts an elegant Indonesian woman, her hair done in a large konde hair bun, seated in a lotus position with a bouquet of flowers placed in front of her crossed legs.
