First edition, first issue with "Erste bis Sechste Auflage'' printed on the copyright page. Private (?) half-leather book (22 x 14 cm) with gilded back title, 146 paginated pages and 4 leaves. The first front fly leaf shows a previous owner´s inscription. The second front fly leaf with a tipped in portrait of Hermann Hesse (14. 5 x 10 cm) monogrammed and dated in ink "H. H. 1927" by the author. As visible on the scans the book is in a very nice and clean condition. The binding of the book offered here is only minimally rubbed and bumped - otherwise a very nice and clean copy of this masterpiece of Hermann Hesse.
