tachistic composition in blue and white, powerful pastose painting in spatula technique, oil on canvas, signed "S. Kopfermann" at lower left, on the reverse on the canvas titled and well dated "Komposition 9/74", stretcher unprofessionally extended, nicely framed, fold dimensions approx. 69 x 100 cm. Artist info: engl. Painter, graphic artist, architectural artist, church window designer and art teacher (1923 Berlin to 2011 Düsseldorf), studied 1941-45 at the Staatliche Hochschule für Kunsterziehung Berlin with Willy Jaeckel and Bernhard Dörries, 1945 moved to Northeim-Langenholtensen in Lower Saxony, from 1948 worked as an art teacher in Hannover, undertook study trips to France (Alpes-Maritimes, Beaucaire), the USA, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Peru and Italy, 1956-58 stay in Paris, participated in the exhibitions of the Hanoverian Kunstverein, from 1950 member of the "Neue Gruppe München" and the Verein Düsseldorfer Künstler and from 1956 member of the Deutscher Künstlerbund, 1957 admitted to the Darmstadt Secession and from 1968 member of the Westdeutscher Künstlerbund, active in Düsseldorf, temporarily in Hanover and Berlin, source: Vollmer and Wikipedia.
